Harrison Spinks expanded their presence on Westland Road by their acquisition of a former technical college building adjacent to their existing manufacturing facility in Leeds with the vision of transforming it into a new head office and showroom for their premium mattress business.
Harrison Spinks is a fifth generation family business that prides itself on the quality of their products, they uniquely manage 90% of the methods to make their mattresses’, from rearing sheep for their wool and growing hemp and flax crops on their own farm, to felling their own woodland and designing and making their own pocket sprung making machines, Harrison Spinks are the only bed maker in the world who does this.
The HQ design and fit out created a space reflecting Harrison Spinks’ heritage and status as industry leaders while also celebrating their commitment to sustainability and innovation. As well as providing new office accommodation for 90 staff, the head office would also act as a showroom providing a brand experience for visitors. A bright, double height reception with relaxed lounge and refreshment area provides a welcoming space for visitors to an open showroom to showcase product and deliver training to customers. Meeting rooms of various sizes as well as number of informal and quiet work areas were created, with breakout areas shared by office and warehouse staff to encourage staff to get together at communal areas.
